Hi there :~)

My given name is Roderick, but I've kinda adopted the name drigo over the years.  I found Gaia sometime ago, and have been fascinated by it's stated purpose and the folks who are here. 

I live in the most loving and beautiful archipelago on the planet & recently started my own 'zenterprise' to change the world.  I believe  that the world is about to go (and has been going) through major changes and that we have the power to conciously create our own reality.  What a world of possibilities open up to this realization!  I'm still grappling with the implication of this, but I've awoken & embarked on the path…

I have this recurring vision about what our world could be, and have been fascinated by the question of the optimal life.  An optimal civilization.  The best diet.  Amazing health.  Re-education. And understanding parts and hopefully more an more of the whole of our wondrous universe. 

I'm a friend, a gymnast, an adventurer, a lover of the earth and her myriad creatures, and I have a deep love and respect for people from all backgrounds.

Born and raised in Indonesia from Dutch-American parents and living in international communities both at home and at school, I am incredibly grateful for an amazing upbringing.

While my passions as a kid were in adventures, a coincidence involving two symbols on my body during birth that later dissappeared and the name given to me by a spiritual leader encouraged me to look into leadership, unity, and 'changing the world' -  and to therefore look into more serious stuff than adventures from a sense of duty.  Do'oh!  I had fantasies of becoming an actor, a professional flamenco dancer, a bio-technologist, a quantum physicist, an investment banker, a ninja…

I pursued studies in economics and politics, starting in highschool, and then continued at Pomona College, California, thinking that to change any system we must first understand that system , and rise within its ranks to change it from within.  After working for a small US consulting firm in Jakarta with 'important people', I moved on to work for a regional (South East Asia) leader.  Soon thereafter, he was elected chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, reporting to regional government leaders on issues of business policy to create a more competitive and integrated economic region.  Despite excellent 'resume' progress, my own spiritual growth and personal development was lacking.   I was having powerful visions of creating my own enterprise and pursuing my dreams.

So, during May 2004 I decided to quit and form United Adventures, an eco adventure enterprise that is the seed to my life's game plan.  It's aim is to inspire people, and to awaken us to fulfil our dreams.  It's to discover and share an innovative and smart way of life. It's to lead personal mastery, re-education on what's important, group dynamics, and leadership to help us plant our unique seeds and shape the world with our shared dreams.   It's purpose is to facilitate zevolution ;~)

 While May 2004 didn't witness the real beginning to the enterprise (a few partnerships dissolved and I took another job as a consultant for an IT company until late 2005), the enterprise is registered and active as of October 2006.  Embarking on this path is something I've focused on for the past couple years.  Late in 2007 we took over management of two gorgeous islands off the North Coast of Java and began work on creating the first model of an eco-resort village.

Starting an enterprise is an amazing challenge, but indescribably rewarding.  Taking the step to realize your dreams, fully cognizant of the risk of 'failure' (i.e. learning), is an amazing excercise.  And I love the fact that here at Gaia I have the opportunity to meet folks who have also embarked upon their own paths and followed their dreams!

I love getting out into nature with good friends and strangers too, embarking on adventures, chatting in cozy places, creating and admiring gardens, watching great movies, talking philosophy, doing new things, witnessing & creating performances, and reading good books.
